Alan Smith on his Way To Newcastle and Rhain Davis Whiz Kid

We've had some good news and some bad news today out the Red half of Manchester.

First the bad:

Another striker seems to be on his way from Old Trafford. United have agreed terms with Bolton Wanderers that will bring Alan Smith to Tyneside for a reported £6 mil.

I will sorry to see the back of old Smudge. His drive and intensity will be missed at Old Trafford. I feel disappoint for the lad as he never really had the opportunity, mostly due to the injuries, to shine in Manchester. I certainly wish him all the best with the Magpies—except when he’s playing United. I hope those long, depressing nights in the northeast don’t get to him as they have done to so many others—Kluivert, Owen, Butt et. al.

Now the good:

On a brighter note, United have just signed a 9 year old wunderkind ex-pat living in Australia. His name is Rhain Davis, and he looks like he might be the next Rooney, Ronaldo or Messi; take your pick. Check out his video on YouTube. It’s definitely worth the watch.

The future looks bright for United.

You've got rid of two expandable strikers for almost £13 million. I really don't see the problem!

I just like the guy. He's all about intensity. I know we won't miss him terribly, but he was just so dam eager to compete. It's hard to find that sort of unbridled desire in player. It is good point about the money.

Did you see the clips? In Europe an S America they sign them even younger. They don't get money, but they pledge their future in writing to the clubs. It's the reason most footballers aren't very bright. Beckham was relocated to Manchester from Essex when he was 12. I use Beckham more as an example of a dumb footballer rather than a top player.
