Alan Caldwell (Alan Lorenzo Caldwell) was born on May 22, 1956 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After going to high school at East Forsyth (Winston-Salem, NC), Caldwell attended the University of North Carolina. Caldwell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
