Al Zarilla (Allen Lee Zarilla) was born on May 1, 1919 in Los Angeles, California. He made his Major League debut on June 30, 1943 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .254 with 2 home runs and 17 RBI. Zarilla played for the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Al Zarilla's best season was 1948, when he hit for a .329 average and knocked in 74 runs.
