Al Sheard (Alfred Scotchard Sheard) was born on November 17, 1898 in Canton, New York. After going to high school at Canton (NY), Sheard attended St. Lawrence University. Sheard made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Rochester Jeffersons. He played for the Rochester Jeffersons for his entire 3 year career.
