Born on March 22, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Al Schroll (Albert Bringhurst Schroll) played for the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 4 year career. Schroll broke into the bigs on April 20, 1958 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 5.37 ERA in 55.1 innings pitched in 1959, his rookie year.
