Al Russas (Alfred Victor Russas) was born on August 22, 1923 in Providence, Rhode Island. After going to high school at Hope (Providence, RI), Russas attended the University of Tennessee. Russas made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
