Al Pollard

Al Pollard (Alfred Lee Pollard) was born on September 7, 1928 in Glendale, California. After going to high school at Loyola (Los Angeles, CA), Pollard attended West Point and Loyola University. Pollard made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the [[Philadelphia Eagles] 3 year career 1951-1952.
He left the Eagles mid camp 1953 to pursue an opportunity to play for the new Canadian football franchise,the B.C. Lions in Vancouver. He continued play Fullback ,Kick returner and Kicker while achieving
All Pro and All Canadian honors from 1953 - 1957.
Most people believe that 1952 was Al Pollard's best year, as he had 528 kick return yards.
