Al Lakeman (Albert Wesley Lakeman) was born on December 31, 1918 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1942 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1945, his rookie year, he hit .256 with 8 home runs and 31 RBI. Lakeman played for the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Braves and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 8 year career.
