Al Glossop (Alban Glossop) was born on July 12, 1914 in Christopher, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on September 23, 1939 for the New York Giants. In 1940, his rookie year, he hit .226 with 7 home runs and 22 RBI. Glossop played for the New York Giants, Boston Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 5 year career.
