Al Ferrara (Alfred John Ferrara) was born on December 22, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. He made his Major League debut on July 30, 1963 for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 1967, his rookie year, he hit .277 with 16 home runs and 50 RBI. Ferrara played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 8 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Al Ferrara's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1969, when he knocked in 56 runs. However, others believe that it was 1970, when he hit for a .277 average and knocked in 51 runs.
