Al Couppee (Albert Wallace Couppee) was born on June 4, 1920 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After going to high school at Thomas Jefferson (Council Bluffs, IA), Couppee attended the University of Iowa. Couppee made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 1 year career.
