Born on October 19, 1913 in Loyal, Oklahoma, Al Brazle (Alpha Eugene Brazle) played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 10 year career. Brazle broke into the bigs on July 25, 1943 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 1.53 ERA in 88 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Al Brazle's best season was 1952, when he posted a 2.72 ERA, won 12 games, notched 16 saves and struck out 55 batters.
