Al Brancato (Albert Brancato) was born on May 29, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 7, 1939 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1940, his rookie year, he hit .191 with 1 home run and 23 RBI. Brancato played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 4 year career.
