Al Bloodgood (Elbert Lorraine Bloodgood) was born on September 5, 1901 in Beatrice, Nebraska. After going to high school at Beatrice (NE), Bloodgood attended Depauw University and the University of Nebraska. Bloodgood made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Kansas City Cowboys. He played for the Kansas City Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Bulldogs and New York Giants over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1927 was Al Bloodgood's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
