Aftermath of Reggie Evans Violating Chris Kaman

12
Vote

Incase you didn't find out, Denver F Reggie Evans purposely grabbed Clippers F Chris Kaman's genitals during the 2nd quarter of their game when he stood behind Kaman and reached his arm underneath his shorts and back up to his crotch. This wasn't seen in the live shot but all of a sudden Kaman shoves him to the floor and gets a flagrant. A replay showed the incident.

I have found the video for all to see. It also includes Kaman's assessment of the incident after the game, which is hilarious in itself. I love TNT.

One of the refs calling the game said afterwards that he would have "knocked out" Evans if that was done to him. He says he's never seen anything like it in his 26 years of officiating.

If the NBA doesn't suspend Evans then I don't know what the world is coming to.

Thats worse than Delmon Young throwing his bat at the Ump (that pitch was WAY outside).

I have to disagree on that Delmon Young comparison. Not to excuse Evans by any stretch of the imagination, but he did something dirty with his own hands to a guy he was playing against. Delmon Young took his bat and used it as a weapon against a guy that's not out there to compete, he's just trying to call the game. Bad calls happen, and what Delmon Young did is really one of the worst things I've ever seen in sports.

Grabbing another guy's nuts is way worse than Young's bat toss, sorry. I mean, come on... he tried to rip Kaman's balls off! That's not the accepted way to go for an offensive rebound!
By the way, what is it about Denver and genital-related incidents? First, the whole Francisco Elson-Kevin Garnett thing two years ago, and now this?

Would I be out of line to ask that Evans' stats be double checked in case two extra offensive rebounds were added?

Going by the nature of the attacks alone, yes, the attack on Kaman was worse. But I think you have to factor in how and against whom the attacks were made. In my opinion, an attack by an athlete on someone they're not even playing against is a HECK of a lot worse than an attack against someone who is essentially a bystander.
