[edit] Biography

Adarius Bowman is a wide receiver for Oklahoma State.

[edit] High School

As a junior at Notre Dame High School, Bowman had 52 receptions for 1339 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also played on defense and had 75 tackles and four interceptions. He was ranked as a four star prospect by rivals.com and scout.com. He first enrolled at North Carolina out of High School.

[edit] College

In 2003, Bowman played in all 12 games for North Carolina. He finished the season with 10 receptions for 181 yards and two touchdowns.

In 2004, Bowman only played in six games for the Tar Heels. He had 18 receptions for 329 yards and three touchdowns. He was only able to play in six games because he was dismissed from the team in October for possession of marijuana.

The 2005 season was a redshirt season for Bowman as he transfered from North Carolina to Oklahoma State.

Bowman finally saw action at Oklahoma State in 2006. He had 60 receptions for 1181 yards and 12 touchdowns. He set a Big 12 record that year with 300 receiving yards against Kansas. That game included 13 catches and four touchdowns. It ranks as one of the best single performances in NCAA history. He was named All-Big 12 by the coaches and the associated press.

In 2007, Bowman went into the season being regarded as one of the best wide receivers in the nation. Bowman had 61 receptions for 932 yards and seven touchdowns. However, a knee injury ended his season early, and he only played in 10 games.

[edit] Scouting Report

Bowman has a great body. He is a physical specimen at 6-4, 220 pounds. He has great size for the NFL, and is very fast for a big receiver. He is also a very good blocker. He is not a liability to have on the field when the ball isn't going his way.

Some teams might shy away from him due to off the field problems. He was dismissed from North Carolina for marijuana possession. The knee injury also might might also make his stock drop a little.

If not for the knee injury, Bowman likely would have been a mid to late first round pick. However, with teams weary about a big, speedy wide receivers knee, he will probably drop into the second round.

[edit] Trivia

  • Bowman is an Education major.
  • Played as a backup guard during the spring semester of the 2006-2007 basketball season for the Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton.
