Ace Loomis (Ace Darl Loomis) was born on June 12, 1928 in Dubuque, Iowa. After going to high school at Merrillan (WI), Loomis attended the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Loomis made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1952 was Ace Loomis's best year, as he picked off 4 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.

After football, Ace dabbled in different business ventures. He owned an oil company for many years and was also the chairman of a large Insurance company.

Ace Loomis passed away in 2005 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is survived by his 3 children, Linda Bramlette, Steve Loomis, and Susan Loomis, who all live in Santa Fe as well. He also has a grandson, Brandon Ace Loomis (born July 19, 1982), who is currently living in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He will be remembered forever by his loving family and friends and also by the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse where he is in the Hall of Fame there.
