Abner Haynes (Abner Haynes) was born on September 19, 1937 in Denton, Texas. After going to high school at Lincoln (Dallas, TX), Haynes attended the University of North Texas. Haynes made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Dallas Texans. He played for the Dallas Texans, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1962 was Abner Haynes's best year, as he ran for 1049 yards, ran in 13 TDs, hauled in 39 receptions, had 573 receiving yards and caught 6 TD passes.
