Born on January 25, 1893 in Greenup, Illinois, Abe Bowman (Alvah Edson Bowman) played for the Cleveland Naps and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 2 year career. Bowman broke into the bigs on May 19, 1914 with the Cleveland Naps, and put up a 4.46 ERA in 72.2 innings pitched in 1914, his rookie year.
