Ab Wimberly (Abner Perry Wimberly) was born on May 4, 1926 in Oak Ridge, Louisiana. After going to high school at Oak Ridge (LA)*, Wimberly attended Louisiana State University. Wimberly made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the Los Angeles Dons. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Dons the entire time. Wimberly also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Green Bay Packers the entire time.
Most people believe that 1949 was Ab Wimberly's best year, as he ran back an interception for a touchdown.
