College
Fiacconi was a three-year college starter with the Mansfield Mountaineers. He was an All-American in 2001 and was named to his conference's first all-star team.
Pro
Fiacconi played in his first CFL game on July 27, 2002 versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He spent most of the season on the Als practice roster.
Fiacconi was injured for most of the season. He appeared in just six games for the Als.
Fiacconi appeared in just five games with the Montreal Alouettes after suffering a knee injury.
Fiacconi played in 14 of 15 games after being acquired by the Bombers. His addition went a long way towards helping solidify the Bombers’ offensive line, which had been in a state of flux early in the year. Bombers’ running back Charles Roberts led the CFL in rushing yards (1,624) and rushing attempts (290), thanks to the Bomber hogs. He also led the league in yards from scrimmage (2,098). Fiacconi and Co. also gave up the third fewest quarterback sacks (31).
Fiacconi was Mr. Versatility for the Blue Bombers. He appeared in all 18 regular season games, including eight as a starter. He saw action at almost every spot on the offensive line as a result of injuries in the trenches. The team’s O-line didn’t skip a beat when Fiacconi was inserted. The Bomber hogs paved the way for RB Charles Roberts to rush for a league best 1,609 yards on 303 carries. They also gave up the second fewest quarterback sacks in the league (35). Fiacconi also dressed for the Bombers’ East Semifinal game versus the Toronto Argonauts at the Rogers Centre.
Traded to Edmonton by Winnipeg on Sept. 5, 2007.
