A little baseball report

To everyone who thinks Walt Jocketty can trade Aaron Miles and a sack of baseballs to the Florida Marlins for Miguel Cabrera... quit sniffing the good stuff. It is getting insane...talking about all of these proposed trades that idiots come up with. I actually heard a caller last night on Fox Sports Net propose Mark Mulder and Aaron Miles for Alfonso Soriano. Oh sure that is exactly who the Nationals want. A bum left handed pitcher and .260 hitter with no power, arm, range etc... Although Mulder could come back and pitch lights out after taking some time off, but let's not hold our breath.

It looks like Jim Edmonds is hitting better after the adjustment he made. He went back and looked at old film and noticed his hands were much higher this year then in recent years. This could be huge; even if he hits for average and not power, I will even take singles and doubles from a guy that the St. Louis Cardinals were basically getting nothing from earlier in the year.

This just in... The Cardinals traded Alan Benes and Bo Hart for Vladamir Guerrero.... JUST KIDDING! To all the sugar sniffers: Please get some help!

Down on the farm... David Freese of Lafyette High School and Meramec Community College is lights out in minor league baseball right now, playing for the Eugene Emeralds in the Padres organization. David is hitting .370-4hrs-23rbi and has an OPS of nearly .1200... (Combined slugging and on base). Matt Fowles of Meramec Community college has an ERA of 3.23, for Lancaster of the D-Backs organization and that is after a couple rough outings... also Brad Stone of the Florida Marlins was moved up to Low A ball after two weeks in short season A ball. Last but not least; Sam Basta is off his injury and pitching well with single A Baltimore Orioles.... Watch out for these guys in the future.
