A Junior Heads Back to School

At his news conference, Seau said he was graduating, rather than retiring. Why does this situation smell like a rat? A graduation press conference, never heard of those. Why my school didn’t even throw me one when I retired, I mean graduated. At least Seau didn’t blow smoke up our ass like so many previous athletes have done by announcing their retirement only to come back…For what reason, who knows? Although I have to sit here, was this all in the works before hand?
Just three days after announcing his “graduation”, perennial Pro Bowl linebacker Junior Seau was ready to go back to school with the New England Patriots. Who knows, perhaps Foxboro has a better post-graduate program than the one on South Beach? Actually, I was thinking about transferring there myself…That is until my application for financial aid got denied. Chancellor Kraft & Dean Sweatshirt Man run a top-notch program…Only the chosen ones are invited.
Should this really come as a surprise to us? No, not really…Considered everybody in professional sports does this. Thank You Michael Jordan. Although, three days…Three days? I’m all for going back to school, but doesn’t that decision take more than a 72 hour thought process. If we really think about it, on Seau’s graduation day we should’ve known something was up. When posed the question, “Is this not a reversible decision…”I can’t answer that.” Maybe the correct question should’ve been, “Do you see yourself going back to school to get more education?” These damn journalists…Do I always have to do their job time & time again?
