A Few Days Too Late, But...2007 NFL Season Predictions

by Confessions Of A Fanatic

Now I know that the first game was on Thursday, but I haven't had any time to put up my predictions until now, so sorry. Just to make anyone who cares feel better, these predictions were made before the Colts-Saints Thursday night joke, and those results have no bearing on them.

After an "eventful" offseason, I think we've all just been praying for the start of the season. Off-field stuff aside, there was plenty of movement this offseason, and I'm happy to say that we are in for a very interesting regular season. With that, I give you my picks for this year.

NFC
East
1. Philadelphia Eagles (11-5)
2. Dallas Cowboys (9-7)
3. New York Giants (7-9)
4. Washington Redskins (6-10)
North
1. Chicago Bears (11-5)
2. Green Bay Packers (7-9)
3. Detroit Lions (6-10)
4. Minnesota Vikings (5-11)
South
1. New Orleans Saints (10-6)
2. Carolina Panthers (9-7)
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-10)
4. Atlanta Falcons (4-12)
West
1. Seattle Seahawks (9-7)
2. St. Louis Rams (9-7)
3. San Francisco 49ers (8-8)
4. Arizona Cardinals (6-10)

Playoff Teams: Philadelphia, Chicago, New Orleans, Seattle, Dallas, St. Louis

AFC
East
1. New England Patriots (13-3)
2. New York Jets (8-8)
3. Miami Dolphins (7-9)
4. Buffalo Bills (7-9)
North
1. Baltimore Ravens (12-4)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7)
3. Cincinnati Bengals (8-8)
4. Cleveland Browns (4-12)
South
1. Indianapolis Colts (11-5)
2. Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7)
3. Tennessee Titans (7-9)
4. Houston Texans (6-10)
West
1. San Diego Chargers (12-4)
2. Denver Broncos (10-6)
3. Kansas City Chiefs (7-9)
4. Oakland Raiders (5-11)

Playoff Teams: New England, Baltimore, San Diego, Indianapolis, Denver, Pittsburgh

NFC Championship: New Orleans over Philadelphia
AFC Championship: New England over San Diego

Super Bowl XLII: New England 28, New Orleans 17
MVP: Lawrence Maroney, RB, NE

Believe me, it wasn't easy for me to make this pick, since I hate the Pats. But, when you have the most talented team in the NFL, you have the most talented team in the NFL.

Very nice... until New Orleans was going to the Super Bowl. They barely got past the Eagles last year, and they didn't really get any better. I like Dallas or Philly in the Super Bowl or maybe if one of the NFC West teams breaks out with a defense. Other than the NFC Title Game, the standings are very realistic.

Well thanks Falcon. Honestly, I'm at a loss when picking who will come out of the NFC, so before the season started, New Orleans was getting by on an offesive talent standpoint. In an ideal world, we'd just be able to forget about the NFC and just have the four best teams in the AFC fight it out for the title, but alas, it can't happen. New England, San Diego, Baltimore, and Indianapolis really are the best the NFL has right now.

New Orleans' O-Line is supposed to be better this year, from what I've heard...

See, you may have been late, but it is clear that you did not change your predictions. if you did, no way you have the Saints in the Super Bowl.  :)

Absolutely Christof. I was shocked by what happened on Thursday, as many were, and if I updated my picks, I'd probably have your Eagles playing for the title. I don't know if you've read Bill Simmons' picks for this year, but they include laughs such as Seattle winning 13 games and Atlanta making the playoffs. What a joke.

Give the colts more wins than eleven. Also I think New Orleans will have a slump season from last year after what happened on thirsday. The giants will come in last in the nfc east. Finally Lawrence Maroney will not be an MVP. I think it will be Brady again. Nice job

The Pats will make the playoffs easily, but the Colts will beat them again.
