"Freakin' homers." You voting Texas above Louisville is _entirely_ objective and has _absolutetly_ nothing to do with you liking the team or the conference. Freakin hypocrite.

I've got nothing wrong with you liking your team. I fully expect that. What bugs me you constantly coming on here and talking trash in support of a team that's played the 97th toughest schedule in the country. Get a clue.

By the way, I voted Texas ahead of Louisville because I ALREADY had Texas ahead of Louisville, and I never jump one team over another in the top five unless they have a stunningly extraordinary win. And their win over West Virginia was not that. I also strive for objectivity, even though we all know I'll only do so much. I didn't have Texas as my pre-season number one, despite my strong feeling that a team should stay number one until someone defeats them. In fact, I had Texas as a pre-season number four.

And Texas has as tough schedule? Let's see, N. Texas, Baylor, Sam Houston (not even D1) oh, weren't they down by 21 against un-ranked Texas Tech before they came back? Texas has a loss, Louisville doesn't. Try being objective and giving WVA and Louisville some cred, if not RU. They have great offenses but gave up a few pts to each other. Texas' D wasn't all that impressive in the BCS title game, now was it.

You had Texas as your preseason #4. What have they done to lead you to believe that they are a # 3. Are you honestly saying that Texas would deserve to play for the BCS title, despite having a loss, even if Louisville runs the table and goes undefeated. Are you really saying that.

Look at the numbers, idiot. Until the game they just played against each other, Louisville and West Virginia weren't even in the top 60 in strength of schedule. Keep knocking Texas' SOS, but they've STILL played a harder schedule than Louisville. And if Louisville had played the number one team in the country like Texas did, they'd have a loss, too.

And I'm not saying Texas would play in the National Championship over Louisville, that's why I don't have EITHER of them at number two. The season's not over yet. Louisville still has to play Rutgers, Texas still has to play A&M and the Big 12 Championship. There's still quite a bit of football left, so just cool your jets and stop talking trash about a Rutgers team that hasn't even come close to proving itself yet.

Oh, and West Virginia and Rutgers both have wins over 1-AA schools. Rutgers barely defeated South Florida and UConn, but you're dissing Texas for struggling against Texas Tech. Are you seeing the hypocrisy yet?

Idiot? Way to resort to name-calling to bolster your argument. Who are you, Aswaff, Pnatt in Disguise (sing to transformers song). All I was doing was retorting to you bogus 'freakin homers' claim. You started the bashup vs Big East and haven't solidly refuted anything to make me think that you are not a homer as well. Seriously! In yrs past the big ten might have had more luster but this is 2006. WVA, Louisville and RU are valid teams and if one of them goes undefeated, they deserve to goto the BCS as opposed to a one-loss team from another conf. Of course that is yet to be seen but we can discuss it, can't we? Or is armchair run by aussies now as opposed to Americans?

Dufus. You were claiming that Louisville D is not top-rated because they gave up pts to WVA. I was merely arguing that notion with a solid counter point. Do you even remember what the final score of the national championship was? Allow me to refresh your memory: 41-38. So isn't it convenient of you to malign the Big East game last wk because it was high-scoring. Sorry, pal, I'm not stupid, nor absurd. You are.

I have to agree with Anon #2. This guy makes a lot of sense. Aswaft, you have to calm down a little. Big East has some great teams this year, get over it. You can keep crying about the SOS, but by the end of the season it will all work out. Rutgers beats Louisville and WV, they are going to the BCS championship. And when you are wrong, you often call people idiot, stupid, etc. There is no reason to use FOUL language on this site. I've noticed a pattern amoung a few users on this site, whereby they use foul language when they are losing in a debate or change the topic altogether. It is the easiest way to tell someone has LOST a point when they switch the topic or resort to cursing. So please keep it clean and keep it on TOPIC. We are all HOMERS to some extent, except maybe Manny who is an anti-HOMER. haha.

aswafff- Anon#2 has a point, a really really good point. So, let's follow the logic, Ohio St. beats Illinois 17 -10. Rutgers blows out Illinois 33 - 0. Ohio St. blows out Texas 24 - 7. Hmmm, looks to me like Rutgers beats (i mean blows out) Texas. Haha, but seriously the Big East is a great conference with some very good teams this year. Face facts.

They're being measured (by the system that we have currently) and if Rutgers is so great and beats Louisville, they'll be on the outside crying - so as a Rutgers fan like yourself, that sucks, you deserved better...(don't say I didn't warn you) I just want to remember the days when I could count on Rutgers being one of the 1-2 wins Temple would get every year... maybe there's hope for TU... Manny- I remember those days. Haha. Also, I remember when Rutgers was in teh Atlantic 10 basketball conference with Temple. We had some great games together then. Actually, the A-10 was always overlooked and Temple in particular would put up a nice showing in the NCAA tourney. Remember that? Even George Washington had a few good years. or UMass.

actually, I have gone back to minusing people (it's helpful in some instances) and I often curse, but only because curse words are my favorite adjectives... I don't hate on people I disagree with, if that's what you mean. (I tend to enjoy people who disagree with me more than people who agree with me)

I make too much sense for most people because they're brainwashed into thinking in certain ways... Go, Hollywood!!! (If it doesn't make sense, it makes dollars!)

So, thanks for the backhanded compliment, I guess... and you're right, the Suns WILL win it all this year!!!

well, screw you bastard!!! minus, minus, minus!!!

Unlike users such as you refer to, I don't care about winning or losing debates. Where can I cash in these +'s for stuff I can use? I enjoy sports, mental tussling and entertaining complete strangers through electronic means using my voluminous wiles.

This might help you understand the man behind Manny... I always use sarcasm - or do I?

My friend who calls me "Dad Jr" due to my child-like hyperactivity says because of me, he doesn't even know what "sarcasm" means anymore!

That, and I have a a philosophy and too much to say about everything. (I'm like a taller Adam Corolla) One time when I didn't talk for 5 minutes, my wife called the paramedics...

Regardless of what ANYONE thinks of my posts, I ALWAYS enjoy them!!!

Where did that Homer from Texas go? Wanted to ask him something. Wanted to know if he was going to watch the big game tomorrow night. Wanted to know if he was picking Rutgers at home over Louisville. I would think he would be for Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Why? Because then Texas would move up in the rankings. But would they deserve it? Hmmm, I'm thinking that would be no. There soft schedule should not permit them to play in the Championship game. There is no way they are even on the same playing field as Ohio St. or Michigan. I don't think Texas could beat Louisville or West Virginia. I think the Big East is an excellent conference and Texas is on the outside looking in this year.
