AGMVC: Building the Ultimate Team

there have been quite a few AGMVC articles since it was created by Steak. We've ranked the top active catchers, 1st basemen, 2nd basemen, 3rd basemen, and pitchers in Major League baseball among other things. Now, we are going to build the All-Pro MLB team by finishing out the voting with shortstop and outfield. The top 3 outfielders will "start" on the team, regardless whethere they play in left, right, or center. And the top shortstop will make the starting roster. Eventually, we'll do relief pitchers so we can build a full 25-man roster of All Stars. Let the voting begin!

The outfield is tough--there are 15-20 guys to consider and about 8 could be ranked #1.

That's why I factored in defense about as much as offense. For instance, 93.6% of the time Manny is about as good of defensive outfielder as a bean burrito.

I was a pitcher...I never said I was a good outfielder, just that I am a better fielder than Ramirez. As for my pitching, I would make it on a few top 250,000 pitchers lists.

Godd call Shark. Cabrera's a great player, but I think everyone passed him because he's not having a great season. Skill-wise he's definitely on there (and he's much better than Renteria, Alex Cora, or Alex Gonzalez, but who's counting?), but I left him off because of his drop in production this year.

True, his offense is less than great, but he's one of the best defensive shortstops around. I had to put him in for his glove. That and he's pretty good a steling bases.
