Born on March 3, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio, A.J. Sager (Anthony Joseph Sager) played for the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 5 year career. Sager broke into the bigs on April 4, 1994 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 5.01 ERA in 79 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.
