A-Rod's place in history

As you all know, Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player to reach 500 career home runs last night at the age of 32. And Barry Bonds hit his 755th career home run, tying Hank Aaron for most all-time. But I already wrote an article about that, instead I am here to discuss whether or not Alex Rodriguez will be the next leader in all-time home runs in 6-8 years.
A-Rod in fourteen seasons with the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, and New York Yankees, and he played shortsop and third base. He is considered the best active player in the game today, and in the future he could be considered the best hitter in MLB history. He only needs 255 home runs, and if he plays six more seasons then he only needs to average around 42 home runs, and if he plays 8 more seasons he only needs to average around 32 home runs a season, and right now he averages 36 a season. He could certainly break what is soon to be Barry's record, and I hope he does.
And when, if he does, break the record then A-Rod should be considered one of the best hitters of all-time, and it will be well deserved.
