ArmchairGM is the official wiki of MetsBlog.com

ArmchairGM is pleased to announce an affiliation with MetsBlog and theJetsBlog. ArmchairGM users will note that the New York Mets and New York Jets pages, as well as other Mets and Jets pages (for example, Shea Stadium) now or will soon have boxes indicating that ArmchairGM is the official wiki of the respective blog; see an example of the image being used on the right.

MetsBlog and theJetsBlog readers will be registering as ArmchairGM users and participating as usual, but they'll also be focusing their attention on different projects as suggested by the MetsBlog and theJetsBlog editorial staff. Others are welcome to help them in this endeavor.

ArmchairGM is looking to build similar relationships with large, team-specific blogs and message boards for each of the professional and college teams out there. If you have any blogs or message boards to suggest, please let us know at support@armchairgm.com.

The criteria we're looking for:

  1. Pretty big. We're only making this affiliation with one blog/message board per team/school, so we want to make it a good one.
  2. Independent. ArmchairGM's community only benefits if the blog/message board has the authority to affiliate with the community. A blog or message board that's part of a larger umbrella organization typically can't do that without dealing with higher ups. As these relationships are informal, the community doesn't need the headache of having to deal with infighting.

What we provide for the blog/message board:

  1. All the benefits of a wiki as a community building tool -- without having to manage it.
  2. ArmchairGM Affiliate boxes on relevant team pages, as mentioned above, including player pages.
  3. A way to give your readers a voice that they'd otherwise not have.
  4. Fan boxes for your readers (of course!) and a category to match.
  5. The ability to run team-specific projects that only fans can do, such as What are Red Sox Players Remembered For?

Again, if you have any blogs or message boards to suggest, please let us know at support@armchairgm.com. Let's make ArmchairGM the world's foremost community of sports fans!

I think I might have to create my own Devils blog. I am not sure there are any good ones. But looking at our affiliations, it is clear who is really calling the show here.

Well, there are differences: There's no money changing hands, no obligations on either side, and really, it's just a way for us to share resources. If we can get one big affiliate for every team, ArmchairGM will be awesome -- a hub of sports news, opinion, and information. That's what we're after.

In other words, we're not doing a good enough job, so we're getting specialists in to replace us! :)

What do we get out of it then? A pretty picture on some pages? Or do their articles come here, or vice versa?
