2005 ALCS

The 2005 American League Championship Series was played between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the eventual World Series champion Chicago White Sox. The Angels won the first game in Anaheim, California, but the Sox won four games in a row afterwards to win the series 4-1 & advance to the 2005 World Series. The series is perhaps best known for a controversial call in game 2 in which after A.J. Pierzynski struck out in the ninth inning, the home plate umpire Doug Eddings declared that Pierzynski was allowed to run to first. In the next at-bat, Joe Crede hit a home run so that the Sox could win 2-1.
