40-40 for Alfonso

10
Vote

Alfonso Soriano swiped his 40th base last night, making him the fourth player in MLB history to have a 40/40 season. With 45 homers, Soriano has an outside chance at being baseball's first 50/50 player as well.

The other 40-40 club members: Jose Canseco, Alex Rodriguez, and Barry Bonds.

All four are within the last 20 years - interesting. I reckon NYY would rather have Soriano back than Cano.

yeah, an infield of ARod, Jeter, Soriano, and Giambi would be ridiculous with the bat; although, the defense would be dreadful.

not at that price tag, and lack of defense, and awful clubhouse attitude.

I don“t know if soriano is a better option then cano. cano is the better defender, younger and has a shot at the batting title in 2006.

yeah that's WAY better than a multiple time All Star with power, speed and 100 Runs & Rbi anyday... especially since they both K/BB around the same ratio...

i think i would stick with cano, yankees need a guy with a high batting avg. and a good attitude. we have plenty of power and don't need another guy batting .285 with 40+ homeruns. one of the best teams in the last 30 years was the 1998 Yankees. didn't have many homerun hitters but, they won and often. keep soriano, keep a-rod. give me paulie, scottie, bernie, jeter, posada...
