  • Ohio State University Football Coach Woody Hayes punched Clemson University Football player Charlie Bauman in the throat after Bauman intercepted a pass from OSU quarterback Art Schlichter in the final minute of the 1978 Gator Bowl. Hayes was fired the following day.
