23 Years Ago Today. . . .

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals to win the NBA Championship. This would be the last time a major league championship was won by a Philadelphia sports franchise. Since that faithful night, Philadelphia teams have played in six championship games or series. I don't know about hockey and basketball, but the Eagles and Phillies field some decent teams once in a while. It's only a matter of time.

By the way, for the Flyers fans out there, 19 years ago today, the Flyers lost game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to the Oilers. I was 8 years old and cried my heart out that night.
