2010 World Cup - AFC Qualifying

Asian Qualifying for the 2010 World Cup with consist of 5 rounds:
- Teams were seeded based on 2006 World Cup/qualifier performances. The five finalists (Australia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Iran) will begin qualifying in the third round. The remaining teams will play two-leg aggregate playoffs.
- The eight lowest seeded winners from the first round will play two-leg aggregate playoffs.
- The remaining 20 teams will play in 5 groups of 4, with the top 2 teams advancing.
- Two groups of five will play home and away. Top two in each group automatically qualify for World Cup.
- Third Place finishers in Fourth Round playoff to face OFC winner for Intercontinental Playoff.
