Padraig Harrington - Broke the spell of US dominance in the Majors.
Nicki Pedersen - Speedway World Champion and helped Denmark to win the team event.

Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins - Won the Ross, Hart and Lester B. Pearson Award in a fantastic year.
Lewis Hamilton - One of the best seasons ever for a F1 newcomer.
Francesc Fabregas, Arsenal - He has become the engine of the Arsenal attack.
Nemanja Vidic, Manchester United - The rock of defense for the League Champions.
Percy Montgomery - Put the Springboks over the top in France.
David Beckham, Real Madrid and Los Angeles Galaxy - Made trmendous contributions to get Madrid the title and then brought the world's attention to MLS.
Kaka, AC Milan and Brazil - Acknowledged by many as the top footballer in the world.
Roger Federer - He almost won everything.
Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona - The next big thing.
Michael Parkhurst, New England Revolution - Became one of the best defenders in MLS while accumulating a minimal number of cautions and also scored from the halfway line against Toronto FC.
