I think Green Bay should leave it until next year to pick a QB to replace Favre. According to other posts, the two QBs in question aren't that good. So I'd leave it until next year, when it is more desperate.

yeah, but the thought was that Green Bay would trade their current Backup QB who they drafted in the first round 2 years ago, Aaron Rodgers, to Oakland for Randy Moss. If Oakland is going to draft a QB, that trade won't work. It just means that the chances of Moss being a packer are getting slimer

I've never seen the point of compensatory picks. Aren't they just for a player who retires, i.e. for that team to make another pick to "compensate" for it. I think it should just be part of the game, if a player retires, tough luck. Also, how do they guage what round a pick they get in return? Oh, and Cincinnati has a "Supplemental Draft" pick. What's that? And why does the order in Round 2 seem to be a bit more jumbled than Round 1? (Same in Round 3). Isn't each team supposed to have all, e.g. the Number 16 picks in each round unless they are traded?

all the order changes are trades if it says "from". A couple of teams tied for the same record and strength of sschedule, so their order for round one was determined by a coin flip, and then if its a three way tie, a second coin flip. They rotate picks. Top pick goes to bottom, and the other two move up. Compensatory picks are given to teams that lost more than they gained (so just about everyone). It's the League's call. It's all part of their idea of balance. The way a Supplemental Draft works is that for players who were not eligible for the Regular draft. If a team wants a player eligible for the Supplemental draft, they place a bid. see this for more information.

It all seems pointlessly complicated. Just go from 1-32 in each round, put everyone in the same draft pool, be it supplementary or not, and get rid of the extra picks if you lost players. If you lost them, unlucky. But since everyone is in the same situation, it makes no difference! They can pick up more Free Agents if they need to. It works well enough on Madden.

but Madden is not that great. YOu can pull of trades in Madden that you can't in real life. THe more you lose, the more you get. THose are COMPENSATORY. Supplemental picks are picks teams used in last Supplemental draft to take players that were not eligible for the regular drafts. Cincinnati took a player in the supplemental draft last year, and had to use that pick.

I'd like to point out that this blog started 12 hours and 36 Minnutes ago. I have yet to stop posting for more than a few minnutes all day. Not one person has matched this length on one live blog on the Chair. That'd be as long as watching NFL Live at Noon eastern, then watching a 1 PM game, a 3 PM game, post game, sunday night football pregame, and Sunday Night Footbal while blogging it out with no real interuptions

they got swept on day two of the draft. I only blogged game one. The Heat got swept, but the Pats got Randy friggen Moss for a 4th round pick. He ran a 4.3 40 in his pre-trade physical, and says he's willing to rework his contract. He thinks he's back, and so do I.
Straight $$, Homey This user is a Randy Moss fan.

since when did 40 times matter in a physical? Have you considered the possibility of Randy Moss making your team worse? It is very possible you know! How about this... Maybe Randy Moss is done. He couldn't do squat for a bad team at age 30... How will that help the lowly Pats climb from the depths they've sunken to?
