2007 NFC West Preview - Blogger Reports

Loyal bloggers from each NFC West team have contributed to our 2007 NFC West Football Preview. They created a preview for their teams, a win-loss prediction for each game, predicted their team MVP, and projected the final standings in the NFC West for this upcoming season. Click on each team name to visit its page and read its season preview. You’ll also find the latest news from local newspapers, team sites, and bloggers for each team.

The 2006 NFC West final standings and their record in the division:

1) Seattle Seahawks 9-7 3-3
2) St. Louis Rams 8-8 2-4
3) San Francisco 49ers 7-9 3-3
4) Arizona Cardinals 5-11 4-2

The 2006 NFC West results cause questions for the upcoming season:

The Seattle Seahawks snuck into the playoffs with a 9-7 record. Injuries to Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander last year slowed down the NFC Champions the year before. Can they stay healthy for the 2007 season? The Seahawks had a terrible time stopping the pass. Will new defensive back coach Jim Mora and their new defensive back acquisitions solve these problems?

The Rams continue to be exciting on offense. They scored 32 points more than the next NFC West team last year. Unfortunately for the Rams they were unable to stop the opposing offense. Will the defense improve this season to put the Rams back into the playoffs?

The young 49ers have matured into a sleeper playoff team for many analysts. Alex Smith is in his third year as the starting quarterback and Frank Gore has become one of the premiere running backs in the league. Will Norv Turner’s departure set the offense back this season? Will the free agent acquisitions by the 49ers in the off-season put them over the top in the NFC West?

Many would predict the Cardinals to win this division if it wasn’t for year after year after year disappointment by this club. The Cardinals have all the tools to win the division. Can they get over the hump and learn how to finish games? Will their youth cause them to make too many mistakes on the field?

The bloggers have given us their predictions, and this is how they see the 2007 NFC West unfolding:

1) Seattle Seahawks
2) St. Louis Rams
3) San Francisco 49ers
4) Arizona Cardinals

Once again, click on the team name to view its preseason preview and to vote for how the team will place this season. We want to thank all the contributors for their time and willingness to help us with our preview.
