Michael Irvin over Paul Taliabu? Wow. That is a shocker.

It was the right move. Also there are a lot of people who loved the chance to snub Tagliabue much in the same way they snubbed Irvin

Irvin's in now, so he will get a shot next year. Jerry has 5 years to go before becomming eligible (he "officially" ended his career before this season because he signed a 1 day contract with SF) so he wont have competeition for a while

Carter gets in Next year, Monk the Year after. I think Irvin doesn't belong unless Monk is in, but I think Carter will get voted in if Irvin has been

Didn't Art Monk hold a bunch of receiving records before Rice came along? I think that in and of itself makes Monk HOF worthy.

Monk is the original, Rice, Irvin, Carter, Harrison...they're all remakes

Monk was considered the best, before Rice went crazy and shattered every record.

Michael Irvin getting in before Art Monk is a travesty. It's an embarrassment to the NFL. The fact that a guy who went on trial (in a mink coat) for crack amongst other things gets in before a class act with better numbers is just plain sad.

There's like 20 minutes of video on youtube (spread out in six clips) that show countless announcers, coaches, etc uttering versions of the phrase "future hall of famer art monk." There's also a bunch of websites like this one.

I remember Monk as a player (will always remember him as an Eagle). He was good, not great. He played a LOOOOONG time and racked up numbers, but was never a game changer or feared. There's a long list of recievers better than him with much worse stats.

If he gets in good for him, I won't cry. If he doesn't, it's not an injustice.

Congrats to Thurman (don't forget your helmet!), Bruce Mathews and Irvin

but he was the original of the Modern day standout reciever. He may not have been the greatest, but he did change the game. Monk deserves to go in. To say he doesn't NEED to get in is not right
