Why should you draft Trent Green: Trent Green was only able to play in eight games last season as a result of a serious concussion. However, prior to last season, Green had played in every game for five consecutive seasons. If you forget about his injury plagued 2006, the three prior seasons, Green averaged 4214 passing yards and 23 total touchdowns. In other words, he has been a very reliable quarterback that knows how to play the game.
Why you may want to stay away from drafting Trent Green: Green sustained a severe concussion last season, and he may now be more susceptible to having the injury occur again. When Green did come back from his injury last season, he ended the year by throwing six interceptions in the last four games. Another reason that fantasy owners may stay clear of Green is the fear that if Daunte Culpepper can get healthy, he could end up being named the starter over Green.
Bottom Line: Green is a high risk, with the potential of being a high reward, player in fantasy. If you are able to land a reliable starting quarterback early in the draft, then Green would be well worth the gamble as your backup that can be acquired in the later rounds.
