The acquisition of Steve McNair provided stability for the Ravens a season ago when they entered the AFC playoffs as the number one seed --before being upset by the eventual champion Indianapolis Colts. McNair looks to rebound from a disappointing effort in that game and a lackluster season overall. The eight-year veteran finished the season with 3,050 yards, 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and had two interceptions in the 15-6 loss to the Colts. Never a great source for big passing numbers, McNair had just one 300-yard game and he has not passed for over 20 touchdowns in a season since 2003. McNair was once able to provide fantasy owners with solid numbers in the running game as well, but he has not had more than 139 yards in a season since 2003 and just three touchdowns overall on the ground the last three seasons. A season ago, he lacked the ability to get the ball down the field and had a hard time carrying the offense when the running game was not effective. Willis McGahee's acquisition will help take the pressure off McNair, but is unlikely to boost the overall numbers for the former Alcorn State star. McNair should be considered a fantasy backup that can be used in good matchups and will start coming off of draft boards around the tenth round.
