Philip Rivers had a fine start to his NFL career, completing 62 percent of his passes for 3,388 yards and 22 touchdowns with just nine interceptions. He did a good job of taking care of the ball in just his first season as starter. He had some up and down games as expected, but should do a better job of eliminating the down games with a year under his belt. Rivers is an accurate passer with a strong arm. He doesn't have great foot speed, but moves around the pocket well and can make plays on the move. The Chargers offense has as many weapons as any in the league, which is a positive for Rivers. LT is the focus of the offense, but Rivers will get his chances.
Rivers made huge strides his first season, deserving some starts on fantasy teams. Expect him to be even better his second season as starter. He could approach 4,000 yards and 30 TDs.
