The National Invitational Tournament, newly acquired by the NCAA, just announced its bracket. For the first time in its history, teams have been seeded into brackets. The NIT committee chose Cincinnati, Louisville, Maryland, and Michigan as its number one seeds.
Sometimes it's easy to discount the NIT because it has no real bearing in terms of a national championship, but it's still a great honor. Often the basketball atmosphere is better in the early rounds, which are played on one team's home court.
