2006 NHL Draft Recap

The NHL Draft took place on Sunday, June 24. Old news perhaps, but old news that I've not read on here, so I thought I'd broadcast it to the ArmchairGM Community.
The Number 1 Pick was Erik Johnson an American Defenseman, going to the St. Louis Blues. Indeed 4 of the top 8 picks were from the United States.
In the whole draft, Canadians were the most populus again. Sweden had a lot of players drafted, and so did the US.
The first goalie to be picked was Canadian Jonathon Bernier, of the Los Angeles Kings.
There was also a very rare thing, the 14th pick overall was Austrian, Michael Grabner. He is a Right Winger going to the Vancouver Canucks. Another Austrian Right Winger went in the Second Round. It was a good draft for the Austrians.
