  • Texas Rangers get RHP Kip Wells from Pittsburgh for minor-league pitcher Jesse Chavez.
  • Greg Maddux is going to the Los Angeles Dodgers as the Cubs deal the future Hall of Famer for infielder Cesar Izturis
  • Julio Lugo to the Los Angeles Dodgers for IF-OF Joel Guzman and minor league OF Sergio Pedroza from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays
  • Todd Walker to Padres for minor-leaguer
  • The Mets talked with San Diego about a deal in which they would trade Perez and right-hander Heath Bell to the Padres for setup man Scott Linebrink, but the Padres nixed it a few moments before the deadline.
  • OF Alfonso Soriano is staying in Washington.
  • The Baltimore Orioles reportedly turned down a trade that would've sent Miguel Tejada to the Angels in exchange for Ervin Santana.
