The 2005 Texas Rangers finished with a record of 79-83. They scored 865 runs and belted 260 home runs to go along with a .267 batting average. The offense was powered by Mark Teixeira, who led the team with 43 home runs and 144 RBI. Michael Young led the team with 221 hits for a .331 average.

The team allowed 858 runs and had a team ERA of 4.97. Kenny Rogers led the team with 14 wins. Chris Young struck out 137 batters to lead the team. Francisco Cordero was the team's best fireman, with 37 saves.
