The 2004 Detroit Tigers finished with a record of 72-90. They scored 827 runs and belted 201 home runs to go along with a .272 batting average. Carlos Pena led the team in home runs with 27. Carlos Guillen was the best run producer with 97 RBI. Ivan Rodriguez led the team with 176 hits for a .334 average.

The team allowed 844 runs and had a team ERA of 4.93. Nate Robertson was the winningest pitcher, with 12 games won. Jeremy Bonderman racked up 168 strkeouts to lead the team. Ugueth Urbina was the team's best fireman, with 21 saves.
