The 2001 Kansas City Royals finished with a record of 65-97. They scored 729 runs and belted 152 home runs to go along with a .266 batting average. Mike Sweeney provided the power for the team with 29 homers. The offense was powered by Carlos Beltran, who led the team with 101 RBI and 189 hits. Carlos Beltran had a great year on the basepaths with 31 stolen bases.

The team allowed 858 runs and had a team ERA of 4.87. Jeff Suppan led the pitching staff with 10 wins and 120 strikeouts. Roberto Hernandez was the team's best fireman, with 28 saves.
