What a wonderful One Night Stand.
This was a pay per view event honoring the history of ECW. Instead of hosting the show in Philadelphia, where ECW was based, the show was held in New York City.
[Since this is a site for the fans, by the fans, this page was created. It was left pretty much blank. Hence, lets write it upas we go along, from those who know something about the show.]

Since I know a little bit because I know people who watch, I might as fill everyone in on the show, because it is not a sport. In the WWE, there are two brands: WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown!, so according to the storyline the WWE created a third brand ECW. Now before the Branch was created there was an ECW that went out of business at about the same time Vince McMahon ran WCW out of business, so he took the wrestler from both wrestling leagues. ECW was not even wreslting at the time, it was complete chaos, with people going throught tables, burning in fire, jumping off of ladders in the crowd, just chaos. So this one night stand thign was planned and because it sold out so quickly McMahon and company decided to make it a third brand.
The only thing is the thrid brand now doesn't consider itself part of the WWE according to the storyline. So now it's like ECW has declared war on their own corporation so all the fans and wrestlers are the on the ECW side or the WWE side.
At the pay per view ECW one night stand most of the matches were some from the ECW (which is technically part of the WWE) and the WWE. From what I understand the ECW wiped the floor with the WWE, and now the RAW brand has no heavyweight title because the champion John Cena got cheated and lost to someone in ECW. So now there's even more tension between ECW and WWE, even with the announcers.
I don't know why I even bothered but that's basically what going on, to get a clearler idea, go to http://www.wwe.com/ and it won't take long before you have full understanding.
