The 1997 Baltimore Orioles finished with a record of 98-64. They scored 812 runs and belted 196 home runs to go along with a .268 batting average. The offense was powered by Rafael Palmeiro, who led the team with 38 home runs and 110 RBI. Brady Anderson led the team with 170 hits for a .288 average.

The team allowed 681 runs and had a team ERA of 3.91. Scott Erickson and Jimmy Key were tied for the team lead in wins with 16. Mike Mussina led the team with 218 strikeouts. Randy Myers was the team's best fireman, with 45 saves.
