The 1996 Seattle Mariners finished with a record of 85-76. They scored 993 runs and belted 245 home runs to go along with a .287 batting average. The offense was powered by Ken Griffey, who led the team with 49 home runs and 140 RBI. Alex Rodriguez led the team with 215 hits for a .358 average.

The team allowed 895 runs and had a team ERA of 5.21. Sterling Hitchcock led the pitching staff with 13 wins and 132 strikeouts. Norm Charlton was the team's best fireman, with 20 saves.
